U.S. House Launches Probe Into Trump-Linked Crypto Firm After $500M UAE Investment Revealed
Congressional investigators are scrutinizing World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a cryptocurrency venture tied to former President Donald Trump's family, following reports of a $500 million investment from an Abu Dhabi-backed entity. The House Select Committee on the CCP is examining whether the deal violated U.S. policies on advanced AI technology exports.
The Wall Street Journal revealed an undisclosed agreement between WLFI and Aryam Investment 1, a UAE-linked vehicle, signed days before Trump's 2025 inauguration. Documents show $187 million of the initial $250 million payment flowed to TRUMP family entities, while $31 million went to WLFI co-founders.
